I am Selahm (peace through pauce) Skybird (the phoenix who has risen from the ashes) Beman (the wisdom and strength of the mountain). I am a Reiki Master Teacher and founder of the Antioppression Reiki School, which supports the ascension of folx transmuting the trauma of oppression.
My consciousness incarnated at this delicate time in human evolution to escape oppression in order to map the pathway from oppression to liberation and then guide others.
For the past 15 years, I have worked with people across the US and Canada to help them unleash their aliveness and claim their rooted power as (a force of) nature. As a Reiki Master Teacher, I help the brave reclaim their power at the level of their energy for unshakable sovereignty in the face of oppression.
My Reiki Journey
I found Reiki after many years of spiritual practice and activism. I was ready for life to be sweet to me, but I didn’t know that yet, and I would have felt ashamed to think something so tender. I learned to be hard before I was born. Oppression told me I was bad and wrong, no matter how much I conformed. Then, oppression gaslight me by insisting that I, personally, had mental health issues. I had intergenerational grief and loss. I had valid fears and rage. This is trauma. Society expressed its homophobia and transphobia through me as suicidality. This is internalized oppression. But I rose to the challenge of loving myself enough to receive oppression’s brutality with softness, rather than beating myself into compliance. I am no longer the monster in my life. I protect myself at all times. I cloak myself in love.

My Approach
Community-Based, Antioppression Golden Shadow Work
I offer Reiki Master Certifications and programs to heal the trauma of oppression so you can let life love you out of brutality and indifference.
I offer Reiki Master Certification as a 4-month, cohort-based intensive that uses Reiki's love and light energy for Golden Shadow Work: healing work where we reclaim our light: our exuberant self-expression and radiant authenticity. Reclaiming our light heals Adultism, the system of oppression that indoctrinated us into masking, hiding, and repressing who we are to earn love and acceptance. It also heals the internalized neurotypicality from abelism/ sanism, and any other indoctrination into feeling like we are "too much," "too weird," "too wild," "too sensitive," etc.
My approach deviates from Reiki certifications as drop-in, à la carte offerings to leverage the power of relationship for faster healing. My approach also recognizes Golden Shadow Work as a pathway to heal Adultism specifically, which unleashes and empowers our master manifester, our inner child.
My approach pairs intensity with sweetness to energize the power of childhood magic.
My programs are built on consent, co-creation, co-regulation, and playfulness. This allows my co-creators to relax deeper into themselves. The deeper we go, the more power we can reclaim. Consent and co-creation create an inherently trauma-informed approach, which allows us to heal the trauma of oppression's persistent violation of our free will.
